Bonding

An epoxy adhesive can be used for high-performance bonding. The EP77M-F is a two-component, silver-filled, electrically conductive epoxy adhesive. It has a volume resistivity of 10-3 Ω-cm. The adhesive sets up in 5–10 minutes at room temperature, and full cure takes 8–12 hours at room temperature. Electrical conductivity is detectable within 30–60 minutes. It has high bond strength to similar and dissimilar substrates and adheres to metals, glass, ceramics, vulcanized rubbers, and most plastics. The bonds are resistant to thermal cycling and chemicals including water, oil, and most organic solvents. The adhesive has an operating temperature range from 4°K to 125°C and has a 1:1 mix ratio by weight or volume. In addition to low outgassing properties, the adhesive is 100% reactive and contains no diluents or solvents. The product is available in glass jars, metal containers, and syringes. Master Bond Inc., Hackensack, NJ; phone: 201-343-8983; e-mail: main@masterbond.com; Internet: www.masterbond.com

Power Modules

Power modules are suited for computer, medical, custom indoor, or general applications. The filtered sheet F outlet accessory power modules are configured with an IEC 60320-2-2 Sheet F outlet and a filter. They have a maximum rating of 10 A international and 15 A North American at 250 V ac. The modules are UL, CSA, and VDE approved and RoHS compliant. Same-day air shipments are available. Automated Glow Wire Tester

A company offers an automated glow wire test apparatus, which can be used for testing the flammability and ignit-ability of components and materials. The T4-08 unit is motor driven and includes a remote control. Constructed in compliance with IEC 60695-2-1/0, the device includes an electronic feedback heating-current stabilizer-regulator, thermometer, motor drive, timer, A-meter, and remote controller. Educated Design and Development Inc., Morrisville, NC; phone: 919-469-9434; e-mail: info@productsafet.com; Internet: www.productsafet.com.

EMC Services

A company’s high-performance, spread-spectrum clock oscillators and EMI suppression adapters can reduce electromagnetic emissions and associated harmonics up to 20 dB. Applications include aerospace, telecommunications, medical capital equipment, and consumer electronics. Advanced spread-spectrum modulators, which have a standard TTL or CMOS-compatible output, meet clock requirements of all major CISC, RISC, and DSP processors. EMC oscillators serve as replacements for crystal oscillators and are plug compatible to standard 14-pin, 8-pin, and surface-mount packages. All EMC oscillators are available in selectable output frequencies that range from 4 to 128 MHz. Drop-in assemblies for back-end integration eliminate costly redesign and production delays, and EMC low-noise oscillator products can reduce dB up to 20%, enabling products to satisfy EMI standards. EMC Component Group, Santa Clara, CA; phone: 408-330-9216; fax: 408-330-0012; e-mail: sales@ emccomponent.com; Internet: www. emccomponent.com.

EMI Gaskets

EMI soft-foam gaskets can be used in electronics and IT applications such as backplanes, I/O panels, and access panel cabinet seals. The Soft-Shield 4800 EMI multiplanar conductive soft-foam gasket offers low closure force for stable electrical performance. The gasket has through-resistance and compression-set properties. In addition, it is RoHS compliant. A pressure-sensitive adhesive provides adhesion as well as electrical interface resistance. Chomerics, a div. of Parker Hannifin Corp., Woburn, MA; phone: 781-939-4604; e-mail: clazinsky@parker.com; Internet: www. chomerics.com.

Preamplifiers and Cables

A company has both preamplifiers and high-frequency low-loss cables to match antennas to 2, 4, 7, 18, 26.5, and 40 GHz. Each preamplifier has a dc-regulated power source. The inclusion of a low-voltage indicator enables users to power the preamplifier with an external battery. The cables have power-handling and high-frequency capabilities. They can be customized to any specified length. A.H. Systems Inc., Chatsworth, CA; phone: 818-998-0223; e-mail: sales@ahsystems.com; Internet: www.ahsystems.com.
