Laird Technologies (St. Louis) has entered into an agreement with RFMD (Greensboro, NC) to jointly develop RF systems for the wireless industry. The companies will collaborate on developing integrated modules with built-in antennas to meet the cellular industry’s need for more capabilities in smaller handsets. Laird manufactures EMI shielding, telematics, thermal management, and wireless antenna products. RFMD provides RF integrated circuits.
MIRA Ltd. (Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK) has opened a new development facility capable of testing the EMC of large vehicles. The company’s heavy vehicle semianechoic chamber has an EMC 9 designation and allows a wide range of vehicles to undergo whole-vehicle EMC development. MIRA is an independent provider of testing and certification.
TÜV America Inc., based in Danvers, MA, has entered into a partnership agreement with Product Safety Engineering Inc. (PSE; Dade City, FL). The alliance enables both companies to promote complete safety and EMC testing services as well as national and international certifications. As part of the agreement, PSE will provide EMC testing, product safety services, and global certification services to TÜV’s customers in the southeast United States. TÜV will provide national and international compliance services.
