Ground Bond Tester

A new ground bond tester provides 60 A of test current. The Model 2660 is designed to provide enough test current for products with higher input current ratings. The enhanced ground bond tester includes features such as a liquid-crystal display, electronic dwell, test setup memory, and advanced remote control. The LCD allows operators to view test results and setup parameters. The electronic dwell provides consistent, accurate timing and testing. The unit's test setup memory allows up to five sets of test parameters to be stored and recalled for ease of use. The basic remote control provides operators with all of the remotes required to configure the instrument through simple PLC relay control. This function allows the 2660 to be easily integrated into any production line test station. Additional features include milliohm offset capability, no-load setup, adjustable output current, and milliohm trip current. The unit has front-panel controls and user-selectable output frequencies. Electrical Barrier Materials

A family of easy-to-fabricate electrical barrier materials offers superior mechanical properties in addition to standard-duty to high-performance electrical insulation capabilities. Manufactured by a wet-laid process that instills very good consistency and uniformity, Voltoid materials are mostly available in sheet form and are well suited for die-cutting, punching, folding, and forming. Voltoid V-090 is a medium-density fire-retardant electrical insulation material composed of organic and inorganic fibers and inorganic fillers bound in a proprietary latex matrix. It has a flame class rating of 94-5VA and can be used in proximity to heat sources. This material comes in a roll, in a thickness of 0.015 or 0.030 in., and is highly flexible. PCB Shield

An easy-to-mount modular fence system for shielding PCBs at the source entails no tooling costs. Within seconds, a single fence strip can be turned into any of numerous possible boxes with dimensions varying in 6.35-mm increments. The fences come in standard widths of 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 mm as well as customer-specified alternatives, and are available in thicknesses of 0.12 to 0.5 mm. Power Supply

The 65-W single-output R65 power supply unit (PSU) has an industry-standard 3 X 5-in. footprint yet operates at full loads at 60°C, as compared with 40°– 45°C for other PSUs in its class. Rectifiers and SCRs

Greater power-handling capabilities than were available with 77-mm rectifiers and silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCRs) are provided by 85-mm Model TC and 100-mm Model TD SCRs. In addition, 85-mm Model RC and 100-mm Model RD rectifiers are available. The TC SCRs are available in 600- to 6500-V versions and with current ratings to 4000 A. Inverters

A line of high-efficiency 19-in. rack-mount inverters for applications requiring constant ac power from dc input provides 1500 W of power in an ultrathin 1U package weighing 12.34 lb. Optical Backplane Connectors

A multifiber two-piece backplane connector system comprises a female connector and a male jack with six MT-style ferrules; optical fibers number 48, 72, or 144, depending on the ferrule configuration. Designed to Telcordia GR-1435-CORE requirements, the MPAK connector system features rugged nickel-plated cast-zinc housings to shield and isolate EMI. VDSL Filter Module

Multifunction filter modules for use with very-high-bit-rate digital subscriber line (VDSL) chip sets can replace as many as 20 discrete components, minimizing component footprint and saving board space. All four available VDSL modules include a high-pass filter, a hybrid transformer, a transmit-and-receive separation filter, and a common-mode choke. Line-return loss between 4.1 and 7.9 MHz is 12 dB, isolation voltage is rated at 1500 V rms, and impedance ratings are 120 Ω for the line, 40 Ω for transmission, and 270 Ω for reception. Chip Resistors

Two series of full-Kelvin four-terminal low-value current-sensing chip resistors are available for high-reliability applications. Standard features include marking of the resistance value and current-sensing terminals, and wraparound nickel barrier terminations, while epoxy-bondable terminations are available as an option. The S2512FK-series resistor measures 0.250 X 0.125 X 0.030 in. and is rated at 2 W and 200 V. The 0.200 X 0.100 X 0.030-in. S2010FK series is rated at 1 W and 150 V. EMI Filter

A high-performance lead-free EMI filter is designed with a 0603-size ferrite bead to provide high impedance levels into the gigahertz range. Wire-Bondable Chip Resistors

Silicon- and ceramic-based wire-bondable chip resistors for use in chip-on-board assemblies and multichip modules are based on a tantalum nitride film technology that produces an ultrastable precision resistive element on an ultraminiature substrate. The WBC series includes single-chip resistors, center-tapped dual-chip resistors, networks, and capacitors with multiple aluminum or gold pads for wire bonding. Resistors are offered in industry-standard sizes as single resistors on 20 X 20-mil die with two pads and as two-resistor elements on 30 X 30-mil die with six pads. High-Voltage Transformer

The Model 4283-1300 fine-wire high-voltage transformer delivers 0.2 W of continuous power within a wide operating-temperature range. A family of highly integrated SiGe vector multipliers features a 12-dB gain-control range, a 360° phase-control range, and flatness in these areas of ±0.25 dB and ±0.25°, respectively. A line of IEC- and UL-compliant miniature circuit breakers offers alternative to fuses in industrial controls and automation applications. SFP Transceiver

A small-form-factor-pluggable (SFP) transceiver offers gigabit Ethernet speeds over Category 5 unshielded twisted-pair copper cable, eliminating the need for exotic copper cable or fiber-optic cable to achieve bidirectional communication at gigabit-level speed. The transceiver mates by means of a standard RJ45 interface with built-in magnetic coupling circuitry, and fits into industry-standard MSA-compliant SFP equipment. It is suited for local-area network backbones and drops up to 100 m, and has proven capable of exceeding the 100-m gigabit Ethernet standard in many applications. Bluetooth Crystals

Ultrasmall surface-mount crystals measuring 3.2 X 2.5 X 0.6 mm and weighing 17 mg typical provide the electrical performance required for Bluetooth applications. Lead-free NX3225DA-series crystals are available in a frequency range of 16–55 MHz, with 16.0, 20.0, 24.0, 26.0, and 32.0 MHz being typical. Their frequency tolerance at 25° ± 3°C is 10 ppm and their high-performance temperature range –10° to 60°C; operation is possible between –40° and 85°C. Low-Profile Inductors

A line of inductors only 3 mm high are suited for high-current applications in telecommunications equipment, computers, and portable power devices, as well as for energy storage, dc-dc conversion, and I/O filter applications. Miniature Pulse Transformers

Space-saving general-purpose pulse transformers offer minimum primary inductance values of 100 µH to 10 mH and isolation ratings of 1 kV rms. ESD-Protective Connector Caps

Three series of plastic caps are available to provide ESD protection for D-subminiature connectors.
