Charged-Plate Monitor

Monroe Electronics' portable digital charged-plate monitor provides low-voltage accuracy, user programmability, and data storage for more than 1500 tests. The product's features include an LCD, RS-232 with download software, eight-hour battery life, and automatic test sequencing.

Chip Varistors

Multilayer chip varistors from TDK offer capacitance values as low as 15 pF in small case sizes. The varistors feature tin-plated terminations and a nickel barrier. The varistors are suitable countermeasures against static electricity and surges in portable electronic appliances, measurement devices, control devices, home electronic appliances, audio-video equipment, and other electronic devices.

Static Control Flooring

Flexco provides static control vinyl flooring that requires minimal routine monitoring; resists wear, abrasion, and common chemicals; and has a built-in antimicrobial to assist in controlling bacteria and fungi. The conductive and static-dissipative flooring has a lifetime conductivity warranty and a 10-year wear warranty. The flooring is available in standard and low-outgassing formulas.

30-kV ESD Simulator

The PESD 3000 from Haefely Test is a 30-kV ESD simulator with easily interchangeable R-C discharge network modules to meet a variety of ESD test standards. Features include polarity switching, an RS-232 optical interface, remote-control software, test fingers for air and contact discharge, an IEC test level indicator, single- and repetitive-discharge nodes, and a discharge counter.

Clean Carbon Sheet

The clean carbon sheet from Noveon Static Control is constructed from a carbon-filled polystyrene core coextruded with a surface layer of Stat-Rite inherently dissipative polymer alloy. The alloy can be washed, recycled, and reused at the end of the tray life. The sheet eliminates carbon sloughing and provides a safe, dissipative surface for ESD packaging.

Mini Ionizer

The ZVI4100 mini ionizer from Semtronics uses steady-state dc ionization with Sense Feedback Control to maintain balance. The compact unit is powered by 24 V dc and offers two-speed fan control with low air velocity and wide coverage. The ionizer provides visual and audio power and alarm indicators. The unit has a 3.5-in.-diameter fan and a stainless-steel case.

ESD Control Tile

VPI Flooring Products offers ESD control vinyl tiles in a choice of 17 colors, including red, yellow, and blue. The color tiles provide high visibility to offset border areas or safety zones. The tiles are available in Conductile, a static-conductive vinyl tile, and Statmate, a static-dissipative vinyl tile. The tiles are suitable for installation in cleanrooms and telecommunications and electronics manufacturing facilities.

Portable ESD Simulator

The Dito ESD simulator from Amplifier Research offers 16.5-kV air and 10-kV contact discharge. The unit can be held in one hand and displays both the discharge tip and actual status setting simultaneously. Users can select standard, user-defined, "easy zap," and "quickstart" test routines. The simulator is manufactured by EM Test, and optional software allows ESD testing and report generation.
