Broadband Power Amplifiers
Schaffner
EMC Systems Ltd. offers power amplifiers with wide frequency ranges,
from 0.1 MHz to 3 GHz, and with power up to 400 W. The amplifiers meet
all standard conducted and radiated immunity requirements. The solid-state
amplifiers operate in Class A and offer linear power. The units have
been tested and matched to EMC applications and can be operated safely
in both open and short circuits.
Leader
Tech offers an EMI/RFI shielding product line that includes one-piece,
two-piece fence and cover, and multicavity shields. All shields are
available with options such as surface-mount pins and pads, knife-edge
pinless, through-hole pins, and hybrid mounting. More than 75 standard
profiles of beryllium copper gaskets are offered. In-house tooling and
design services, custom configurations, and prototyping services are
available.
The
DAPS-01 from TDK RF Solutions Inc. is a computer-controlled positioning
system for the remote positioning of two antennas in a test environment.
The positioner allows for continuous testing across two antenna bandwidths
without interruption. The system combines a dual antenna mast, turntable,
and remote system control unit to provide positioning in both the horizontal
and vertical planes from the control room.
Citel
offers RF coaxial surge protectors for amplifiers and surge arrester
gas tubes for internal use. The external amplifier surge protector is
available with N-, TNC-, BNC-, and F-type connectors for frequencies
ranging from dc to 4 GHz. The internal gas tube features low insertion
loss and is available in both surface-mount and through-hole versions.
The
CGO series of comb generators from Com-Power is suitable for use by
EMC test labs as a reference emission source for frequencies up to 5
GHz. The generators allow labs to troubleshoot problems with their test
site and perform site correlation without resorting to complete site
calibration. The circular chassis provides a uniform 360° radiation
pattern. The internal circuits offer signal stability and automatic
shutoff when the signal becomes unstable.
Ophir
RF offers a range of high-power solid-state amplifiers. Both broadband
and wireless communication band products are available at power levels
up to 1 kW. Broadband applications include immunity and emissions testing
for EMC, EMI, and RFI. Wireless communications applications include
base stations, repeaters, and wireless local loops. Data sheets can
be downloaded directly from the company's Web site.
The
SPW-2400 series of low-profile power transformers from Prem Magnetics
are suitable for use as replacements for transformers on circuit boards
without having to retool for pin locations. Pin configurations are compatible
with domestic 24.0 VA transformers offered by multiple sources. The
transformer has received UL 1446, UL 1585 Class 2 and 3, UL 1950, VDE
0805 (EN 60950), IEC 950, and CSA 22.2 No. 234M90 approvals.
Custom-Manufactured Products
Orion
designs and custom manufactures die-cut EMI/ RFI shielding, insulating,
thermal-transfer, screening, and sealing products suitable for use in
the telecommunications, electronics, medical, and computer industries.
Suggestions for materials to reduce cost are provided, and rapid prototypes
are available. The ISO 9002registered company is a UL-recognized
fabricator.
The
iX series of high-output ac and dc power units from California Instruments
offers a new test option. The ac and dc immunity test capability includes
both the U.S. RTCA/DO-160 and the European EUROCAE ED-14D standards.
Both standards intend to ensure immunity of on-board power systems against
power-supply voltage anomalies. Complete support for Section 16 of both
standards is available as an option.
The
CASSPER system from ETS-Lindgren performs fast, accurate RF emissions
testing, even in the presence of strong ambient radiators. The system
creates a virtual chamber environment for precompliance measurements
and EMI troubleshooting, allowing for testing in sites overrun with
ambients. It also allows for in-place testing on factory floors without
shutting down equipment.
Bluetooth RFI Suppressors
A
catalog from FerriShield features a series of RFI ferrites suitable
for round and flat cables in 2.45-GHz Bluetooth applications. The RFI
suppressors are available in 20 basic styles, with various mounting
options to accommodate the most widely used cable sizes.
The
S/T series of 20- and 25-W amplifiers from Instruments for Industry
can cover the 0.818 GHz frequency range in octave bands or in
a single amplifier. The company also manufactures amplifiers in the
10 kHz to 40 GHz frequency range. The amplifiers provide local and remote
capabilities for test applications.
A
new 16-page product selector is provided by Okaya Electric America Inc.
and includes information on the company's EMI/RFI power-line noise filters
for three-phase applications. The selector features eight seriesfour
for 250-V ac applications, one for 480-V ac applications, and three
for 500-V ac applications. Current ratings for the filters range from
5 to 250 A. The filters have North American (UL/CSA) or European (TÜV)
safety agency approvals.
A.K.
Stamping Co. offers EMI/RFI shielding with Gasket2000 technology. The
technology provides low contact force and easy assembly. The shielding
is suitable for mobile handsets, PC cards, CompactFlash cards, and other
devices. The shield's microfingers make contact with the circuit board,
ensuring shielding and grounding.
A
surface-mount modular jack from Kycon features a shield with top and
side grounding tabs for increased conductivity, panel grounding, and
EMI/RFI protection. The low-profile RJ45 is suitable for networking,
telecom, and datacom applications such as network interface cards, hubs,
and digital subscriber line and cable modems. The jack meets Category
5 specifications and provides positioning posts.
The
Tri-Start filter connector from Amphenol Aerospace is a corrosion-resistant
connector made from composite materials. The lightweight connector incorporates
planar capacitor technology and meets all dimensional characteristics
of Mil C 38999 Series III receptacles. Solder-cup termination and printed
circuit board tail termination are available.
Power Distribution Systems
The
TPC981 series and T9092B-CB-2618 accessory power distribution systems
from Pulizzi Engineering are USL and CNL listed. The rack-mount 1U-high
